How to Overlay One PDF on Top of Another
Last updated: February 24, 2026
Need to add a company letterhead behind every page, stamp a 'DRAFT' watermark PDF over a document, or combine a form template with filled content? PDF overlay places one document on top of another — either as a foreground stamp or a background layer. OneClickPDF does this entirely in your browser.
Step-by-Step Guide
Open the PDF Overlay tool
Navigate to the PDF Overlay page on OneClickPDF. No account needed.
Upload both PDF files
Upload your base document (the main content) and the overlay document (the stamp, letterhead, or template). Both load in your browser.
Choose foreground or background
Select Foreground to stamp the overlay on top of the base (good for stamps and watermarks). Select Background to place it behind (good for letterheads and templates).
Configure overlay options
Choose how the overlay maps to pages: first page only, all pages, or cycle through overlay pages. Adjust opacity if you want the overlay to be semi-transparent.
Preview and download
A live preview shows the combined result. When satisfied, click Apply & Download to get your overlaid PDF.
