Add a Company Letterhead or Background to a PDF
Last updated: February 24, 2026
You have a plain PDF document — a report, a letter, a proposal — and need to add your company's branded letterhead behind every page. Instead of recreating the document from scratch, PDF overlay lets you place a letterhead template behind the existing content in seconds.
The Problem
Your document was created without the company letterhead template, or you received a plain PDF that needs branding before sending to a client. You only have the PDF, not the original source file, so you can't just change the template in Word.
How It Works
Prepare your letterhead PDF
Create a single-page PDF of your letterhead design — logo, company address, borders, footer, and any background elements. This becomes the overlay template.
Open the PDF Overlay tool
Go to OneClickPDF's PDF Overlay tool.
Upload both files
Upload your content document as the base and your letterhead as the overlay. Select 'Background' mode so the letterhead appears behind the content.
Apply to all pages
Choose 'All pages' to add the letterhead to every page, or 'First page only' if only page 1 should be branded. Download the branded document.
PDF Overlay
Stamp one PDF on top of another as a background or foreground.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the letterhead appear behind my text?
Can I use different letterheads for page 1 and subsequent pages?
What format should my letterhead be?
Will this increase the file size?
Brand any PDF with your company letterhead in seconds — no need to access the original source document. The overlay approach works with any PDF regardless of how it was created.
