Minified or messy JSON is hard to read, whether it's an API response you're debugging, a config file, or data you're about to send to an endpoint. This JSON beautifier pretty-prints it with 2, 3 or 4 space indentation, checks it as you type and points to the error when it's invalid, and converts it to XML, CSV or YAML. Everything runs in your browser: your JSON is never uploaded.
How it works
How to Beautify and Format JSON
Three steps, no upload and no account.
Step 1: Paste or Upload Your JSON
Click Start with Sample to try it, Blank Editor to paste your own JSON, or drop a .json or .txt file. The JSON is checked as you type: the toolbar shows Valid JSON or Invalid JSON, and an invalid document shows the parser's error message.
Step 2: Choose Indentation and Format
Pick 2, 3 or 4 spaces of indentation, then click Format / Beautify to pretty-print or Minify to put everything on one line. Tick Auto to re-format on every edit.
Step 3: Explore, Convert or Download
Switch between the Code, Form, Text, Tree and View panels to read or edit the data. Copy the result, download it as formatted.json, or convert it to XML, CSV or YAML with one click.
