Convert Excel to PDF

Last updated: February 26, 2026

Need to share a spreadsheet as a PDF? Converting Excel to PDF ensures your data looks the same on every device and can't be accidentally edited. OneClickPDF reads .xlsx and .csv files entirely in your browser using SheetJS and renders the data as a clean, formatted PDF table. The conversion works well for data tables and simple spreadsheets. However, charts, graphs, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and complex cell styles will not appear in the output — only the raw data values and basic table structure are converted.

1

Upload your Excel file

Drag and drop an .xlsx or .csv file onto the upload area, or click to browse. The file is processed entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

2

Preview the table

See how your spreadsheet data will look in the PDF. Verify that columns, rows, and data values are correct. If your file has multiple sheets, select which sheet to convert.

3

Choose output settings

Select page size (A4 or Letter), orientation (portrait or landscape — landscape is often better for wide spreadsheets), and font size for the table text.

4

Convert and download

Click convert to generate the PDF. The output is a clean, formatted data table ready to share, print, or archive.

Technical Details

OneClickPDF uses SheetJS (xlsx library) to parse .xlsx and .csv files client-side. SheetJS reads the spreadsheet data, cell values, and basic structure without requiring Excel or any server-side processing. The extracted data is rendered as an HTML table, styled with clean typography and borders, and then converted to PDF using the browser's rendering engine. Important limitations: Excel charts, graphs, and sparklines are not converted (they're stored as separate drawing objects, not cell data). Conditional formatting, cell colors, merged cells, and custom number formats may not be preserved. Formulas are evaluated to their computed values. For spreadsheets with extensive visual formatting or charts that must appear in the PDF, consider using Excel's built-in Export to PDF feature instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my Excel charts appear in the PDF?
No. Charts, graphs, sparklines, and other visual elements in Excel are stored separately from cell data and cannot be extracted by the client-side parser. Only cell values and basic table structure are converted. Use Excel's built-in Export to PDF for charts.
Does it support .xls files (older Excel format)?
The tool is optimized for .xlsx (modern format) and .csv files. Older .xls files may work in some cases, but results are not guaranteed. If you have an .xls file, open it in Excel or Google Sheets and re-save as .xlsx first.
What happens to formulas in my spreadsheet?
Formulas are resolved to their computed values. The PDF will show the final calculated numbers, not the formulas themselves. This is the same behavior as printing a spreadsheet.
Can I convert multiple sheets at once?
You can select which sheet to convert from a multi-sheet workbook. Each sheet is converted separately. For combining multiple sheets into a single PDF, convert each sheet individually and use our Merge PDF tool.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded to a server?
No. The entire conversion runs in your browser. Your spreadsheet data never leaves your device — this is the most private Excel to PDF converter available.

Excel to PDF conversion is straightforward for data-focused spreadsheets. OneClickPDF handles the conversion privately in your browser, producing clean table-based PDFs from your .xlsx and .csv files. Charts and complex formatting won't appear, but for sharing raw data in a professional, non-editable format, it gets the job done quickly and for free.
